Ian has more than 15 years experience in improving business processes and managing IT at a Fortune 500 company, saving millions of Dollars and creating new business opportunities in that time.
As the Sales track leader for the company’s transformation from a multi-regional in-house custom ERP environment to a single instance global SAP R/3 system he had responsibility for process and system design, testing, conversion and business change management. He created and implemented improvements to their worldwide sales order management process including changes to ensure consistent and profitable pricing for their global customers. These resulted in a reduced level of pricing errors between countries and a consequent saving of effort spent in correction, and facilitated transparent tracking of the pricing and profitability for business with all of a global customer’s locations – whether the business was directly with the customer or via a third party distribution channel. This more complete information brought benefits in annual price negotiations.
He has successfully integrated acquired company’s business processes and systems into the parent company’s environment, while capturing and implementing best practices.
In the IT management area he has re-engineered support teams to be more responsive to the business, while reducing cost through offshoring and stabilizing systems to the point where the 24/7 business operation can completely rely upon their availability.
